A busy weekend?

If you are travelling to Buenos Aires this weekend, and looking for things to do, you could not have chosen a better weekend to be here. On the 12th November, two of Buenos Aires’s largest annual activities are taking place. If electronic music is what you love, then you need to head over to the Creamfields Festival. However, if you want to take part in an amazing cultural experience or want a quieter evening, you should go tour around the Night of the Museums (La Noche de los Museos).

Creamfields is in its foreign birthplace, Buenos Aires, for its 11th consecutive year. Only two years after the festival was born in Liverpool in the United Kingdom, the festival was brought to Buenos Aires in 2001, which became the first international venue for the event. Creamfields is the home of local and internationally renowned electronic DJs. In 2010, over 50,000 people attended and the world record was set for the largest dance floor in the world! This year, Creamfields is expected to be just as big and promises to live up to these expectations due to the performers’ line-up . You can see the schedule of the festival here.

The Autodromo in Buenos Aires will have seven stages which will be the setting for DJs such as, Fedde Le Grand, Pete Tong, Afrojack and Pete Tong and many more international DJs. The festival starts on Saturday 12th November 2011 at 5.00pm and finishes at 06.00am on Sunday 13th November 2011. Tickets start at ARS$275 with an additional ARS$25 service charge. However, if electronic music is not what you are into, then do not despair as the 8th Night of the Museums is taking place on the same evening, Saturday 12th November 2011 from 8.00pm until 02.00am. Last year more than 600,000 people visited a variety of shows and spectacles in the museums and historic spaces of Buenos Aires. Seventeen more museums or historic spaces will be included in this year’s schedule making the Noche de los Museos the largest to date with 174 museums and cultural spaces opening their doors in 27 neighbourhoods.

The size of the Night of the Museums further proves why Buenos Aires is considered to be the unofficial capital of culture in Latin America. Not only do you get to see the fantastic exhibitions and take part in the cultural activities, but you can also do a bit of Buenos Aires sightseeing at night.

No matter how you spend your Saturday night, we are sure that you will have a great time and hope you enjoy celebrating Buenos Aires’s diverse culture and events that are put on in this fantastic and exciting city year after year!
